02 / Give time a shape
Keep the apps you enjoy. Give them a place.
Set an allowance for the apps that pull you in, then choose what happens when that time is used. A practical boundary you understand.
App screenshotsExample data
A messaging app can connect you to a friend. A video can teach you something useful. The difficult part is knowing when enough has become more than you meant.
An app budget turns a vague intention into an allowance you can see. Start with a realistic amount, decide how NudgeAway should respond at the limit, and adjust the plan as you learn what works for you.
How it works
A little structure. Your way.
Pick what needs a boundary
Use the iPhone’s Screen Time picker to select the app you want to manage. You do not need to put every app under a budget.
Set the available time
Choose an allowance that leaves room for useful and enjoyable visits. You can keep it as one daily budget or divide it with a day plan.
Decide what happens at the limit
Choose reminders only, a short or longer wrap-up, or an immediate pause. Your budget and its boundary style work together.
A plan you can explain
45 minutes for an app. A stopping point for you.
A 45-minute allowance gives you a concrete reference for the day. Choosing Short grace adds a brief wrap-up before the app pauses. This is an example, not a recommended amount for everyone.

A few practical answers
Do I have to block an app when its budget is used?
No. Choose Check-ins only if you want reminders without a pause. Hard stop, Short grace, and Long grace provide different levels of pausing support.
Can I change a budget later?
Yes. You can edit the available time, boundary style, and distribution in the budget settings. A budget should reflect your intentions as they change.
Does NudgeAway need my account for the apps I select?
No. Selection and monitoring use Apple’s Screen Time system. You do not give NudgeAway a social-media password or create a NudgeAway account.
Start with one small change.
Choose an app, an intention, and the level of support that feels right.
